News and Events

Thanks to the support of our generous conference sponsors, each year AUGC recognizes the achievements of some of Atlantic Canada’s top undergraduate and graduate geoscience students through a variety of awards. There have been over 60 AUGC conferences hosted since 1962.

Science Atlantic was originally established in 1962 and through the decades has seen growth across scientific and provincial boundaries. Science Atlantic’s Earth Science Division was created in the early 1990’s.

The Earth Science Division coordinates educational activities for students in the Earth Science and Geology departments in the Atlantic universities, often involving provincial and federal geoscience organizations. It assists with the organization of the Atlantic Universities Geoscience Conference (AUGC) and coordinates a speaker tour for the member universities.

SA-AGS Speaker Tour

Science Atlantic is a co-sponsor of an annual speaker tour with the Atlantic Geoscience Society (AGS).

Due to COVID-19, this year’s SA-AGS Speaker Tour has been cancelled.
