“Science Atlantic Sessions for All” (SASA) are informal online sessions hosted by faculty members for faculty members. They provide a safe space where academics can discuss the triumphs and tribulations of their profession with their colleagues. They are not recorded.
These sessions stem from our Broadening Horizons project, in which we interviewed STEM academics across the region to understand what inspires and what challenges them. One of the key recommendations was to provide opportunities for early-career academics to connect with their more experienced peers.
While advanced registration is encouraged, it is not necessary. If seats are still available, the meeting room link will be posted to our social channels on the day of the event. In some cases, attendance is limited to allow for easier open discussion.
We look forward to continuing Science Atlantic Sessions for All throughout the year. If you or someone you know has an idea for a future session, please let us know! We welcome faculty to share your ideas.
