Science Atlantic Nutrition and Foods Conference (SANFC) log

“The goal of the SANF conference is to provide undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to present their research and attend presentations from keynote speakers. This conference also gives students the opportunity to connect and network with other students and faculty from Universities across Atlantic Canada to further immerse them in the disciplines of Food and Nutrition Science.”

The 2024 Science Atlantic Nutrition and Foods Conference (SANFC) will be held April 24 and 25 at Memorial University of Newfoundland. The event will be hybrid, so don’t worry if you can’t make it in person!

Registration is now open with a deadline of March 29.

Undergraduate students may submit an abstract to be considered for a 15-minute oral presentation or a 5-minute poster presentation, due March 22. Please visit the abstract submissions page for details.

Thanks to the support of our generous conference sponsors, each year  recognizes the achievements of some of Atlantic Canada’s top undergraduate and graduate Nutrition and Foods students through a variety of awards.

About

The Science Atlantic Nutrition and Foods Committee is comprised of nutritional and food scientists and educators from each University in the Atlantic Provinces that has either an established nutrition or food science department, program or faculty position. The committee serves as a community for faculty and students working within the nutrition and food science fields, notably those in human nutrition, dietetics and food science.

The main objectives of this group include:

  • Promoting the study of nutrition, dietetics, food science and technology, as well as the various careers and development opportunities within each area and their wide-ranging contributions to society
  • Supporting and promoting opportunities for students and faculty to develop their understanding of the basic and applied nutritional and food sciences and to engage in transdisciplinary learning and collaborations.
