A Well Watered Science Atlantic Tree
On November 19, members of the Saint Francis Xavier University (StFX) community gathered to celebrate 60 years of Science Atlantic with a tree dedication. The tree is located outside Mulroney Hall on the pathway between the Library and Nicholson Tower (facing the power plant).

The tree dedication was an occasion to recognize the University’s past contributions, and its continuing commitment to Science Atlantic as the organization enters the next 60 years. Dr. Andy Hakin, StFX President spoke at the ceremony:
“It’s a celebration of 60 years of achievement. The tree is symbolic of the impact Science Atlantic has had in the region, where it has fostered connections, and supported and nourished all branches of science, and continues to grow.”
Dr. Joe Apaloo, Interim Dean of Science at STFX spoke about the unique opportunities that Science Atlantic has facilitated.
Dr. Robert van den Hoogen, member of the StFX Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and Chair of Science Atlantic was the MC of the event.
During the event, individuals from the audience were also invited to the podium to share their experiences with Sciene Atlantic.
