Science Communication Award Winners Have Articles Published with ASRJ

Two of our Science Communication Award winners took the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Atlantic Student Research Journal (ASRJ) to publish an article about their research. Learn more about Elizabeth Dreise and Devon McGrath below and stay tuned for more articles written by young scientists in the Atlantic region!

Elizabeth Dreise won the Science Communication Award for her presentation titled: “We’re not doing it to be nasty!: Informal caregivers’ accounts of negotiating driving safety with their aging loved one” at the 2019 Psychology Conference, held May 6-7 at Mount Allison University. Elizabeth graduated from St. Thomas University in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (Honours). Devon McGrath won the Science Communication Award at the 2019 Science Atlantic Environmental Conference held at St.Francis Xavier University. His presentation was titled “Selective High Surface Area Pollutant Scrubbers: Metal-Organic Frameworks for Sequestration of Atmospheric Nitrous Acid”. Devon is now a PhD student in Chemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Check out his ASRJ article here: https://sciatl.org/ASRJ2019-McGrath
