Science Atlantic has been diligently following federal, provincial, and institutional policies and statements to ensure the best possible decisions for students and faculty taking part in our activities. The following outlines the most recent decisions regarding the 2020 Psychology and Chemistry student conferences.
Note: Potential attendees of any academic event are encouraged to seek guidance from their home institutions regarding travel planning.
Cancellation of Psychology Conference at Grenfell Campus in Corner Brook, NL, May 19-20, 2020
In light of travel restrictions enacted at universities and across the region, the organizers of the 2020 Science Atlantic Psychology Conference have regretfully made the decision to cancel this year’s gathering planned for May 19-20. The Science Atlantic Psychology Committee is considering alternatives.
You can stay up to date on discussions by contacting your institution’s Psychology Rep (Psychology Committee members).
Updates for ChemCon 2020 at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB, June 11-13, 2020
ChemCon is approximately three months from now, and most health authorities and our member institutions have not made statements regarding events or travel after May 31, 2020.
Mount Allison administration, ChemCon conference organizers, and Science Atlantic staff are watching developments so that we can make a timely decision regarding cancellation. Updates will be circulated to Science Atlantic Chemistry Committee members and posted on scienceatlantic.ca and the 2020 ChemCon website.
